The goal with this personal budget and financial management application is to make it simple. It seems like most of the software for budget and financial management is centered around lists of transactions, data, and sterile reports/charts. I wanted something easier because data entry for transactions must be easy and simple or it doesn’t get done. Once a transaction is missing you can’t trust the balance.
Aside from easy data entry, some of the other important aspects of the system is the ability set budgets and savings goals. Keeping those points of data in front of you and easy to understand at a glance is imperative. I believe the system we are building is similar to Dave Ramsey’s “Envelope Method” or whatever he calls it. I’ve never looked into the details of his system, but it seems similar.
